On Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) made a prediction that from July 4 to July 8 heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms will be experienced in the isolated parts of several Indian states.
The isolated places of states like Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry &Karikal, Kerala &Mahe, West Bengal, and Sikkim, Odisha are likely to receive heavy rains, and for Assam and Meghalaya heavy to very heavy rains are forecasted by India Meteorological Department (IMD).
In Bihar, Assam, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal heavy to very heavy rainfalls are predicted from July 7 to 8, July 4 and 6, and July 7 respectively according to IMD.
Isolated heavy rainfall is forecasted from July 4 to 6 over Bihar, on July 4, 7, and 8 in Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal, on July 7 and 8 showers will be over Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, on July 4 and 6 heavy showers of rain will be observed over Arunachal Pradesh, on July 5 and 7 showers of rain will be in Assam and Meghalaya and on July 4,6 and 8 Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will experience heavy rainfall.

In some places of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Konkan, and Goa, Kerala and Mahe and Lakshadweep along with Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad are likely to receive thunderstorms with lightning and stormy winds at the rate of 30-40 km per hour.
At some places, monsoons are yet to arrive. These places are Delhi, Haryana, parts of west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, west Rajasthan.
On Sunday, the Ministry of Earth Sciences said, "Lightning at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Gujarat Region, Coastal Andhra Pradesh &Yanam, Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka and Tamilnadu, Puducherry &Karaikal very likely"
