Bomb threats have been made against government buildings in Punjab's Pathankot district. As per reports, the police found threatening posters with the slogan “Pakistan Zindabad” on Dhaki Road. It further argues that the goal should be to bomb government buildings. There is a general feeling of panic among the public following this development.
Witnesses say that unknown persons were seen by someone in village Gandla Lahri near Pangoli. After receiving the information, the district police and ITBP have jointly started a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) along with a combing operation. It is to be noted that this area is sensitive as it is protected under the army and is adjacent to the border of Jammu and Kashmir.
Recently, five soldiers were martyred in Kathua district when terrorists attacked an army vehicle, since then this area has become sensitive. Five Indian Army soldiers lost their lives, and five others were injured in the terrorist attack in the Machedi area of Kathua. This incident followed the Indian defence forces gunning down six terrorists in two separate encounters on July 7. Notably, J&K has witnessed numerous terror attacks since April. Glass of a car parked outside a house was also broken. These posters threaten to blow up many places including the government office in Pathankot.
