After debuting as a co-director in Manikarnika in 2019, Kangana Ranaut makes her debut in the digital space as a Producer with the film Tiku Weds Sheru. Tiku Weds Sheru is the debut movie of 21-year-old TV actress & social media influencer Avneet Kaur. The film was supposed to stream on Amazon Prime in May 2022, though the release date is finalised as 23 June 2023. Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be the main lead in the film as Shiraz Khan aka Sheru and Avneet Kaur as Tasleem Khan aka Tiku, other star casts of the film includes Sanjay Mishra, Zarina Wahab, Mahaakshay Chakraborty, Hemant Kumar, and Nikki Tamboli. Avneet Kaur who is the main lead in the film opposite Nawaz is a TV actress known in Indian households for playing the role of Princess Yasmine on the serial Aladdin- Naam Toh Suna Hoga (2018-2020), and Princess Charumati in Chandra Nandini (2017) on Star Plus.
The film’s shooting started on November 8, 2022. This news was given by Kangana herself, who took to her Instagram handle and stated that "Receiving Padma Shri Honour on the same day as beginning my journey as a Producer is extremely special to me.” she further stated, ” Hope you all like it. (with heart emoji) Filming begins!”
Talking about Kanganan Ranaut, the actress turned producer in one of her interviews said, "It’s a Love Story and a Satire with Dark Humour.” talking about the digital space she said, “In the Digital space, we will do more edgy, new-age and niche content. We feel the digital audience is slightly more evolved than the regular cinema-going audience.”
Tiku Weds Sheru is directed by Sai Kabir who earlier directed Kangana’s Revolver Rani (2014) and will be made under the banner of Kangana’s own production house Manikarnika Films. Sai Kabir along with Director Anand Tiwari wrote this film.
