Vishesh Sarangal has issued the time schedule for burst of firecrackers on festivals of Dusshera, Diwali, Gurpurab, Christmas & New Year Eve.
DM Jalandhar, while exercising the powers vested under section 144, Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 has ordered that no person shall store, exhibit or sell any firecrackers or explosive materials normally used in the festival of Dusshera, Diwali & Gurpurab except the person duly authorized by the competent authority.
Besides that no person shall be allowed to burst or light firecrackers except on the given time frame on Dusshera from 6 PM to 7 PM , Diwali from 8 PM to 10 PM, Gurpurab ( Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji ) from 4 AM to 5 AM and 9 PM to 10 PM , Christmas & New Year Eve from 11.55 PM to 12.30 AM.
DM also said that Police department would ensure that fireworks take place only during the designated time as mentioned above.
They shall also ensure that there is no sale of banned firecrackers. As per Hon'ble Supreme Court order referred above in case any violation is found, the Station House Officer (SHO) and DSP of the concerned Police Station of the area shall be held personally liable for such violation.
Besides that During upcoming Dushehra festival, and with the aim of maintaining public safety , it was ordered that there would be no unauthorized gatherings on or around railway crossings to avoid any untoward incidents. The Station House Officer (SHO) and Deputy Superintendent of Police are directed to monitor and ensure strict compliance with this order.
He also said that firecrackers shall not be burst or lighted at any time in Silence Zones like near Hospitals, Educational Institutions etc.) and within the limits of Suchi Pind and in the area of five hundred yards of IOC, BPCL and HPCL Oil Terminals. This order will remain in the force from date of issue to till 03-01-2024.
