In a statement issued here today, the Senior Superintendent of Police said that the presence of heavy Police force led by an officer of the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police ensured that there was no violent clash amongst the protestors and supporters of the former Minister. He said that Police fully vigilantly ensured that no one takes law in their hand besides ensuring that law and order was maintained. Mr. Mahal said that had the Police not swung into action immediately after getting the information then the repercussions could have been more serious.

The Senior Superintendent of Police further said that the Police have registered a case against the unidentified protestors and further investigation into the case was going on. He unequivocally said that no one, however affluent he may be, would be allowed to take the law in their own hand.
