Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who portrayed the character of Roshan Kaur Sodhi in the popular Indian sitcom "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah" (TMKOC), has accused the show's producer, Asit Modi, of sexual harassment. In a recent development, the actress has slammed her co-star Mandar Chandwadkar for supporting Modi and not taking her allegations seriously.
The controversy began when Jennifer suddenly left the show after 15 years. She later revealed that she had faced sexual harassment from Asit Modi on multiple occasions and that she had complained about it to the show's management. However, her complaints went unheeded, and she was eventually forced to leave the show.
Modi has denied all the allegations against him and called them baseless. Meanwhile, Mandar, who plays the character of Bhide Bhai in TMKOC, has also weighed in on the matter, expressing his surprise at Jennifer's accusations and stating that the show had a healthy and happy work environment.
However, Jennifer has hit back at Mandar, saying that he is blindly supporting Asit Modi and that he doesn't understand what she has gone through. She also revealed that a co-star had called her to abuse Mandar for his stance on the matter.
In a recent Instagram post, Jennifer recited a couplet and warned the makers of the show not to mistake her silence for weakness. She reiterated her claims of sexual harassment against Asit Modi and said that the truth would eventually come out.
