As the countdown to LUCIFER's last season approaches, stars Tom Ellis and Lauren German have recalled about their hilarious first meeting.

Lucifer's sixth and final season will premiere on Netflix today, bringing the epic fantasy series to a satisfying close. Before tears are shed and the world is saved once more, co-leads Tom Ellis and Lauren German have revealed how they met for the first time back when the hopeful DC Comics adaption was having its first airing on Fox.

Tom Ellis and Lauren German, who co-star in Lucifer, have been joking about their fateful first meeting on the set of the show's first season.

Ellis teased his co-star about their explosive on-screen chemistry in an interview with Entertainment Weekly about the Netflix hit's last season, which premieres this week.

‘It was a lot of work,' German sarcastically admitted, prompting Ellis to boost the ante.

“It was a lot of work, I mean you say effortless? Jeez”, he joked.

“I was exhausted from day one turning up trying to manufacture some kind of chemistry with Lauren.”

His on-screen buddy laughed it off and said, "Ditto."

The love tension between Ellis and German has been one of the most talked-about aspects of the show, despite the fact that it seemed like the actors were struggling to make it work at first.

Thankfully, the two co-stars were joking about, and Tom Ellis went on to talk about their real first meeting.

Prior to their meeting, they had a mutual connection in fellow actor Jesse Spencer, who told Ellis about Lauren German's audition after he had already gotten the job.

“The worlds kind of collided and Lauren got the job,” Ellis continued.

“So we got together on the day of the read-through just to say hello and read through the script together before the read-through.”

Ellis and German became great friends after spending time together reading over the first ever script for the series.

They made each other laugh throughout the process, according to the Lucifer star, and it was quite easy for them to get along.
“It was pretty easy and effortless to have that chemistry, " he added.

According to German, both stars have a similar bawdy sense of humour.

“You class it up a notch, I kind of drop it down here,” she revealed to Ellis.

“The first time we met, we clicked like a house on fire, and we never stopped laughing.”

Lucifer and Chloe's on-screen partnership is as as humorous as it is romantic, thanks to their shared humour.

Sadly, Lucifer and Chloe will be seen on television for the final time this weekend, however the iconic team may find a way to collaborate again in the future.

Lucifer season 6 will premiere on Netflix on September 10th.
