Vehicles heading from Delhi and Haryana to Noida International Airport, Agra, and Lucknow will soon gain direct access to the Yamuna Expressway. Such a relief, isn’t it? The two elevated roads will be linked through a traffic interchange, similar to the arrangement near AIIMS in Delhi. The two interconnected roads are the Chilla Elevated Road and the proposed elevated road from Pushta, Sector 94, to Yamuna Expressway. Construction of the Chilla Elevated Road began last month.
Speaking on Noida Foundation Day, Noida Authority CEO Dr. Lokesh M. stated that this move will benefit nearly 10 lakh (1 million) drivers.
He added that the Chilla Elevated Road is being constructed at a cost of ₹892 crore. It will be a 6-lane road extending 5.9 km. Once completed, it will eliminate traffic jams at Noida's main entry point and allow vehicles coming from Mayur Vihar to access the expressway directly.
Proposed: New ground-level expressway to ease traffic
To reduce the traffic load on the Noida Expressway, a new 6-lane elevated road and an 8-lane ground-level expressway have been proposed, extending from Sector 94 Yamuna Pushta Road to the Yamuna Expressway. This new expressway will also serve as a direct link to the Noida International Airport.
For this, a major interchange will be built near the Mahamaya Flyover, modeled after the one near AIIMS in Delhi. The process of selecting a consulting firm to design the interchange will begin soon. Once selected, the final design will be quickly prepared. Once these elevated roads are connected, millions of drivers from Delhi and Noida are expected to benefit daily.
Direct route to Agra, Lucknow, and the airport—Noida Expressway traffic to ease
Vijay Kumar Rawal, DGM (Civil) of the Authority, stated that once these two elevated roads are connected, vehicles traveling to Agra, Lucknow, and Noida International Airport will no longer need the Noida Expressway.
Drivers from Delhi, Haryana, and Noida will have a direct route to Lucknow, Agra, and the airport. Similarly, traffic coming from Lucknow, Agra, and Greater Noida heading toward Delhi and Haryana will also benefit from a smoother, direct path.
