New Delhi: On Monday, the Lok Sabha was adjourned for the second time after Trinamool Congress members created an uproar over ''the alleged misuse of CBI'' in West Bengal.
Members of the Trinamool Congress, including Saugata Roy, Kalyan Banerjee, Dinesh Dwivedi, Moon Moon Sen and Arpita Ghosh, trooped into the Well, raising slogans against the government when Home Minister Rajnath Singh was making a brief intervention.
Speaker Sumitra Mahajan tried to conduct Zero Hour but nothing could be heard amid the din. As soon as the House reassembled after first adjournment at 1115 hrs, Trinamool Congress Members were up on their feet trying to raise the issue which they said was an offence on the federal structure of the Constitution.
The TDP members including former Union Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju also entered the Well and raised their demand for granting of special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
The Speaker allowed members to raise the issue where Trinamool Congress, Congress, RJP, SP, and Biju Janata Dal spoke. There was unprecedented confrontation between TMC and Saumitra Khan, the Bishnupu MP who recently 'joined' BJP. Among others, Aparupa Poddar, Kalyan Banerjee and Idris Ali came near Saumitra Khan's seat and tried to stop him from speaking.
Ms Mahajan tried to conduct business amid ruckus, but in vain. She adjourned the House till 1400 hrs.
