On Saturday, police officials told that three accused have been arrested on the charge of “attempting murder” of Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
Police officials told the media agency that on Thursday three men drove a car through the security cordon of Chief Minister during the time of CM’s evening walk at the official residence, Shyamaprasad Mukerjee Lane.
Police were quoted saying, “Mr Deb managed to jump aside as the vehicle whisked past him, but one of his security personnel sustained minor injuries. The Chief Minister's security tried to intercept the car but could not.”

The Police further informed that the three accused have been arrested from the Kerchowmuhani area and the vehicle has also been seized. The accused are arrested under the charge of “attempting murder.”
On Friday, the accused were presented in front of the court and as for now have been sent behind the bars for 2 weeks (14 days).
Assistant Public Prosecutor said that the three accused are in their 20s and the reason behind the attempt is yet ascertained.
Prosecutor said, “We demanded two days of police remand for interrogation, but the court has remanded them to judicial custody till August 19. Now, the police would interrogate them in jail to know their motive behind driving through the security cordon of the Chief Minister.”
