Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh on Sunday at the Rogers Centre, a stadium in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Their meeting took place hours before Dosanjh's show at the venue. Sharing a photo of their meeting, Trudeau said in a post, "I stopped in at Rogers Centre to wish Diljit Dosanjh all the best ahead of his show."
"Canada is a great country, where a Punjabi man can make history and sell out stadiums." Diversity is not just our strength. It is a superpower," the Canadian Prime Minister wrote.
Ties between India and Canada came under severe strain after Trudeau alleged the "possible" involvement of Indian agents in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in September last year. New Delhi dismissed Trudeau's allegations as "absurd." India has been saying that the main issue between the two countries is Canada's exemption from pro-Khalistan elements operating on Canadian soil. In June this year, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said that India's main issue with Canada remains the political space that Ottawa provides to anti-India elements who advocate extremism and violence. He had said that India has repeatedly conveyed its "deep concerns" to Canada, and New Delhi expects Ottawa to take strong action against those elements.
Diljit has also been quite busy in the film industry. He recently starred with Parineeti Chopra in Imtiaz Alis Amar Singh Chamkila and costarred with Tabu. Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon play significant roles in Crew.
Around the world, his most recent song, Bhairava Anthem, from Kalki 2898 AD, featuring Prabhas, is becoming popular. His most recent release, Jatt and Juliet 3, featuring Neeru Bajwa, is now winning him praise.
