Despite the fact that public gatherings are banned in Punjab and curfew has been imposed in Ludhiana, a violent clash broke out between Lok Insaaf Party MLA Simarjit Singh Bains and Youth Akali Dal President Gurdeep Singh Gosha and their supporters in Ludhiana on Sunday afternoon.
As per reports, during the clash the turbans of a few Akali workers were tossed and others were injured, while the police on the spot remained a mute spectator.
According to the locals, the dispute started when MLA Simarjit Singh Bains reached the Kot Mangal Singh Main Market Temple to launch the road construction work, and in the meantime youth Akali Dal Chief Gurdeep Singh Gosha also reached the spot along with his supporters and raised questions to MLA Bains regarding delay in construction of road.
The two groups then started a verbal fight while answering each other, and then clash turned violent after their supporters attacked each other in the argument that ensued.
Akali Dal Chief Gurdeep Singh Gosha alleged that the fight was initiated by MLA Simarjit Singh Bains after he failed to answer the questions put by Akali Dal workers. He said supporters of Bains not only injured his workers, even their turbans were tossed.
Meanwhile, as per information, supporters of both groups have received minor injuries during the clash and they have been sent to the hospital for treatment.
Besides, the videos of this entire incident had gone viral on social media and police could be seen there but they miserably failed to take control of the situation.
