According to the Chairman of the Parliamentary Panel on Information Technology, Jack Dorsey the CEO of microblogging site Twitter, on Monday was summoned by the panel to appear before it on February 25.
Sources have informed that the panel members took a serious note about the Twitter head not appearing before it on Monday. The committee's Chairman and BJP MP Anurag Thakur said that Twitter head along with other representatives have been "summoned" to appear before it on February 25.
Representatives from the Indian office of Twitter had reached the Parliament extension to attend the panel's scheduled meeting but they were not called into the meeting.
On Saturday, the sources had informed that the committee meeting was slated to be held on February 7 but was later on postponed to February 11 to allow the Twitter CEO and senior officials more time to make themselves available.
