Two Punjab Police officers were allegedly shot dead by some unidentified
persons, who were in the car, in the new grain market of Jagraon on Saturday
night.
Jagraon is a small town located 45 kilometers from Ludhiana.
According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police G S Bains, Assistant Sub-Inspector Bhagwan Singh died on the spot while severely injured ASI Dalwinder Singh succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital.
It may be noted here that both the deceased officials were posted in the state’s Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) in Jagraon.

However, as the incident broke out, senior police officers including Inspector General of Police Ludhiana range Nau Nihal Singh, rushed to the spot.
The police further added that the assailants managed to flee from the spot after the incident.
