After an encounter at Pulwama in the district of SoutKashmir two armed militants have surrendered, as per official records.
Two AK-47 rifles were recovered from the militants after the gun battle tookplace late Friday in Lelhar area.
The gunfight between terrorists and security forces beganafter a cordon and search operation in the area was launched on the basis ofspecific information about militant presence.
As the security forces zeroed in on the hideout, they came under a heavy volumeof fire that triggered the encounter.
"Both terrorists surrendered along with their AK-47 rifles before seniorofficers of police and security forces. One terrorist who was injured inencounter has been shifted to hospital for medical treatment," policesaid.
