On Friday, the dead body of two women was recovered from a drain in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. After the bodies were recovered by the locals, the police and the Crime Branch officer were reached at the spot. The bodies were then fished out and sent to post mortem, as per the police official.
SP Meerut (Rural) Sushil Kumar informed, “Since it appears that the bodies were in the drain for quite some time, they are considerably bloated. Our focus is to identify the bodies since that will make the case clearer. The photos of the bodies are being verified from local villages and queries will be sent to neighboring districts as well. If there is a matching missing person’s complaint, it will give us the needed information.”

As per the investigation done by the police the women, who were found wrapped in clothes, were in their late 20s and might be attacked at different places and were dumped at Sardhana area approximately four-five days ago.
The police have recovered no mobile phone or any ID proof. No birthmark was found on the bodies because of the decomposition.
Police said that a post-mortem report would shed some light on the case. Locals said that both the women belong to a different region. Police are screening the CCTV footage, from the past week, of the area to check the movement of the women.
