UAE Rolls Out New Visa Policy for Indians: Extends stay to 60-Days

The United Arab Emirates has done a major announcement regarding the visa exemption rules for Indian nationals visiting the country, new policy offers 60-days stay.

Recently, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security has announced a major expanansion in the UAE visa rules.

According to the new visa policy introduced by UAE, the visa-upon-arrival exemption is now valid for Indian nationals who holds a valid tourist visa for USA, UK or any European Union countries. This visa is available for a fee of Dh250 (INR 5,722), providing a longer stay for tourists and business travellers. The visa fee for Indian nationals has been reduced to Dh100 for a 14-day stay. The visa-on-arrival is now valid for 60 days and can be extended for an extra 14 days.

Earlier, the Indian nationals holding a US visit visa, a US green card, UK resident permits or EU resident permits received an entry visa-upon-arrival valid for 14 days.

On Thursday, 17th October, the UAE BARQ shared a post on its official Instagram informing about the new visa policy for the Indian Nationals visiting the country. The post read, “The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security: The visa exemption for Indian nationals with residency in the European Union, the United States, and the United Kingdom is now expanded to include holders of tourist visas from these regions. Additionally, the period of stay can be extended after the applicable fees are paid, provided that the visa and passport remain valid for at least six months.”

This change in the Visa policy has enhanced the travel convenience for Indian tourists and also strengthened the UAE’s positioning as one of the leading destinations for tourism and business in the world.

There is also a change in the fee structure. UAE has updated the fee structure which is going to make travelling more flexible and affordable for the Indian visitors.

Updated fee structure: 

  • ·         14-day entry visa: Dh100 for Indian nationals and their family members who hold valid visas, residencies, or green cards from the USA, UK, or any European Union countries
  • ·         14-day visa extension: Dh250
  • ·         60-day visa: Dh250
