UFO sighting & conspiracy theories revolving around aliens are not new to the world. Netizens in the USA, Mexico, and Brazil often share videos with the claims that they have sighted UFOs. However, UFO sightings in India are a rare phenomenon but a Sub Inspector from Koodankulam in Tirunelveli district says that he spotted a UFO in 2023. Chennai-based DT Next quoted UFO tracker Sabir Hussain who talked about UFO sightings in India. Sabir stated that these kinds of 'mysterious' sightings have been made in areas around nuclear plants. The report suggests that in July 2023, a retired DGP had claimed to have spotted unidentified objects on the Neelankarai-Mahabalipuram seacoast.
UFO sightings in Tamil Nadu
The report quoted a UFO tracker Sabir Hussain who talked about Sub Inspector Syed Abdul Kader. A super Sabir, Syed Abdul Kader even shot two videos of UFO near Tamil Nadu nuclear plants and attached it to the technical wing of the Tirunelveli SP office. Sabir further informed that SI Syed Abdul Kader has seen UFOs more than 10 times in the Koodankulam area in August 2023.
Syed Abdul Kader confirmed the claims of UFO sightings in Tamil Nadu in the report saying "After meeting UFO tracker Sabir and discussing with him, I am more than 100 percent sure what I saw were UFOs." Explaining what he saw, Syed Abdul Kader stated "The way it stood still, the way it made zigzag movements, and the speed in which it disappeared...all were different."
Pentagon Report on UFO Sighting
Notably, in March 2024, the Pentagon published the findings of an investigation conducted by the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), a government office established in 2022 to detect and, as necessary, mitigate threats including “anomalous, unidentified space, airborne, submerged and transmedium objects”.
The Pentagon released a detailed 63-page report that ruled out any evidence of the presence of aliens or UFO sightings. "Report on the Historical Record of U.S. Government Involvement with Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP)." In addition to noting that "most sightings were ordinary objects and phenomena and the result of misidentification," the Department of Defense's All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) found no evidence of any U.S. government investigation, research, or review panel verifying a "UAP represented extraterrestrial technology."
