United Nations General Secretary, Antonio Guteres while responding to the unrest after the farmer's tracter parade on Republic day calls for non-violence and respecting peaceful protests.
Guteres' spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said, “As we say (in) many of these cases, I think it’s important to respect peaceful protests, freedom of assembly and non-violence.”
Meanwhile, it has been reported that over 300 cops are injured and 22 FIRs have been filed. Many farmers are also reported to have injured and are undergoing treatment after the police fired tear gas canisters and charged them with batons.
After the protesters entered Red Fort on Republic day,
the protest turned amok. Now, the police is ransacking or viewing multiple
footage of CCTVs to book those behind the unrest.
