Tarn Taran Sarpanch Death: In a bizarre development, a unanimously elected Sarpanch was shot dead in Tarn Taran, Punjab on Monday. After being unanimously elected, the Tarn Taran Sarpanch was going to his village by car with his friends. Meanwhile, 3 youths riding a bike stopped the car and congratulated him on becoming the Sarpanch. After this the accused opened fire at him.
In the firing, the Sarpanch died on the spot, while his 2 friends were seriously injured. They were admitted to the hospital. The deceased Sarpanch has been identified as Rajwinder Singh alias Raj Roop. Rajwinder Singh aka Raj Roop was elected Sarpanch of Talwandi Block Patti village. Police are currently investigating the matter.
As pr reports, Rajwinder Singh had the support of Aam Aadmi Party. Rajwinder was declared unopposed Sarpanch of village Talwandi Mohar Singh (SC). The cops are trying to identify the attackers. Information is being gathered about why the murder was committed. Furthermore, Punjab government's cabinet minister Laljit Singh Bhullar has expressed grief over the murder of newly elected Sarpanch Rajwinder Singh of village Talwandi Mohar Singh. He has also ordered to arrest the accused soon.
