In a horrific development, an American returned NRI was shot inside his own house by two men in front of his family. As per, the two men entered the NRI's home in Daburji, Amritsar in the morning in shot him at least three times in front of his family. The injured has been identified as Sukhchain Singh. ADCP Harpal Singh said that the incident took place around 7.30 in the morning. Sukhchain Singh was brushing his teeth before going to the gym. Then two men came on a motorcycle and entered the house. As soon as they entered the house, the accused started demanding to show the papers of his Mercedes car. When Sukhchain opposed this, the accused showed their weapon took Sukhchain Singh inside his house, and ultimately fired three shots at the NRI. The men wanted to fire more bullets but their guns got stuck and therefore they fled from the spot.
The entire incident was recorded on the CCTV camera installed inside the house. Now, the Amritsar NRI shooting video has surfaced and it is indeed horrific. In the Amritsar NRI CCTV, a child can be seen pleading the attackers to leave them saying, "Uncle Jaan do Please". A woman can also be seen pleading not to kill Sukhchain by folding her hands.
As per the information received, the accused fired three shots from the pistol. Two of which hit Sukhchain Singh. The accused wanted to fire more bullets at Sukhchain, but their weapon got stuck.
Sukhchain's wife said that when the weapon got stuck, the accused fled from the house. They immediately brought Sukhchain to the hospital. At present, his condition remains critical. Sukhchain's wife said that she is his second wife and his first wife had died by suicide. Family member Paramjit Singh said that Sukhchain was having a dispute with his first wife's family. His first wife died by suicide. After this, an FIR was also filed by the deceased wife's maternal family and the case went to court. They have two children, who are living with Sukhchain. He said that about 5 months ago he had received death threats.
