Senior Congress MP Digvijay Singh on Friday alleged that the three farm laws were not drafted in New Delhi but Mumbai. The Congress leader called Narendra Singh Tomar, the Union Agriculture Minister, a good person, but added that he has limited knowledge about agriculture.
"Two Ministers held talks with farmers- One of them Narendra Singh Tomar Ji is a good person but he doesn't know anything about farming. And Piyush Goyal is a spokesperson of the corporate sector. I think farm laws were drafted in Mumbai & not in Delhi," Singh was quoted by news agency ANI.
He further said Tomar doesn’t even hold a land, then how would he know anything about farming.
He also claimed that BJP has always played politics of hate and bloodshed while the Congress party has remained on the path of ‘ahimsa’ and truth.
Tomar slammed opposition in Rajya Sabha over farm laws
Speaking in Rajya Sabha today, Narendra Singh Tomar slammed the Congress and other opposition parties for spreading misinformation about the new farm laws and said these laws will bring revolutionary changes in the life of farmers by increasing their income and profits. He said the Modi government is committed towards the welfare of the farmers.
He has urged the farmer unions and oppositions to make the government aware of the flaws in the three laws.
"Farmers are being misled that others would occupy their land if these laws are implemented. Let me know if there is a single provision in Contract Farming law which allows any trader to snatch away the land of any farmer," he said.

"I made it clear that if the government is ready to make amendments, it doesn't mean there is any problem in farm laws. People in a particular state are misinformed," the Minister added.
