In a major push to unlock the economy further, the Centre may allow the metro train to resume its services across the country from September. Notably, these latest guidelines will be a part of the 'Unlock 4', said officials.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is expected to release a set of fresh guidelines later this week to ease the coronavirus induced lockdown, said officials.
The development, however, comes after the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal urged the Centre to reopen Delhi Metro on a trial basis. The metro services were temporarily suspended in late March when PM Modi imposed a nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of the pandemic.

On the other hand, educational institutions, schools, and colleges are likely to remain suspended. According to the sources, the decision was taken after seeking reports from the state government and educational institutions. Also, cinema halls and congregations are likely to remain barred.
Expectedly, bars, which so far have not been allowed to open, might get the permission to sell liquor over the counter for takeaway.
