The Kisan Sena has termed the three farm laws advantageous for the farmers and has requested the government not to repeal them and warned of a bigger protest if they are withdrawn.

Representatives of Kisan Sena from 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh met Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Thursday and extended their support to the new laws. The Sena representatives have urged the Union Agriculture Minister not to revoke the three agricultural reform laws on any condition.

Addressing the representatives of the farmers' organisations, Tomar said the opposition parties who have not been able to do anything for the welfare of the farmers, despite being in power for a long time, are raising questions on the reforms today and misleading the farmers.

Baghpat MP and former Union Minister Satyapal Singh, Kisan Mazdoor Sangh president Chaudhary Prakash Tomar, vice president Thakur Rajendra Singh, general secretary Baburam Ram Tyagi, Kisan Sena national convenor Gaurishankar Singh and other officials were also present in the meeting.

The farmers' agitation has been continuing for the last four weeks at several border points of Delhi against the three farm laws enacted by the Narendra Modi government, demanding to repeal the three agricultural laws.

On the contrary, several farmers' groups are in support of these laws and are also meeting the Union Agriculture Minister almost every day urging the Centre to not repeal the laws as they believe they are beneficial for the farmers and farming industry.

Earlier, around 1 lakh farmers from Haryana had written a letter to the Union Agriculture minister telling him that they are in support of the laws while Tomar also had a meeting with Uttarakhand farmers who were also of the same opinion.
