Ali Abbas Zafar, Gaurav Solanki, and Himanshu Mehra appeared before the UP Police after the huge uproar over the Tandav web-series. However, it is not yet clear if the Amazon executives, the rest of the actors, and Saif Ali Khan have been questioned or not. Four police officers returned to UP on Friday evening.
The four-member team headed by inspector Anil Kumar Singh reached Mumbai on Tuesday night and first visited Andheri police station of Thane, Mumbai. The same team headed by Anil visited Ali's residence to serve him notice and to question him, however, Ali's residence was locked and no-one was there. As a result, the UP Police team stuck a notice on Ali's house door and asked him to appear before UP Police in Lucknow before January 27.
An FIR was lodged against web-series 'Tandav' makers i.e. Ali Abbas Zafar and Gaurav Solanki, the director, and writer respectively. The FIR was filed at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow on Sunday night by senior sub-inspector Amarnath Yadav. The complaint also named Amazon Prime's India head of original content Aparna Purohit, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, and another unnamed person.
Meanwhile, the disputed scene of Tandava has been removed. Amazon Prime took this decision after two rounds of meetings with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
