Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi tweeted on Monday that he had spoken to the new President of United States, Joe Biden. In a tweet, Modi wrote, "President @JoeBiden and I are committed to a rules-based international order. We look forward to consolidating our strategic partnership to further peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond. @POTUS."
Spoke to @POTUS @JoeBiden and conveyed my best wishes for his success. We discussed regional issues and our shared priorities. We also agreed to further our co-operation against climate change.

A communiqué from the office of Prime Minister mentions that both the leaders noted that the partnership of India and US is "firmly anchored in a shared commitment to democratic values and common strategic interests."
It added, "They reiterated the importance of working with like-minded countries to ensure a rules-based international order and a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region."
The White House said that the joint agenda is ruled by the issues such as climate change, Myanmar and Indo-Pacific but Biden emphasized on defending democratic institutions and norms around the world on Tuesday.
The White House has also issued a read out of a call of President Joe Biden with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It added, "The leaders agreed to continuing close cooperation to promote a free and open Indo-Pacific, including support for freedom of navigation, territorial integrity, and a stronger regional architecture through the Quad. The President underscored his desire to defend democratic institutions and norms around the world and noted that a shared commitment to democratic values is the bedrock for the U.S.-India relationship."
The read out added, "They further resolved that the rule of law and the democratic process must be upheld in Burma. The leaders agreed to stay in close touch on a range of global challenges and look forward to what the United States and India will achieve together for their people and for their nations."
