Initially, Vande Bharat Express was built and functionalised as a medium-distance superfast express service operated by Indian Railways. It means Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Punjab i.e. Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will get a stoppage in Punjab and Punjabis can either go to Srinagar by the much-awaited train or travel to Delhi during the return journey.
As per the India Today report, New Delhi to Srinagar Vande Bharat is set to launch in January 2025. The New Delhi to Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper train will cover over 800 km in less than 13 hours. Departing from New Delhi at 7 PM and arriving in Srinagar by 8 AM.
The report further suggests that New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper trains will have limited stoppage. The train will stop at major stations like Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jammu Tawi, and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.
Hence, in regarding Punjab Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, it can be said that the train will stop at Ludhiana Railway Station. The train will run along the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), a critical route designed to enhance rail connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir. This new route not only reduces travel time but also ensures a smoother and faster journey for passengers.

Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat Express officially took its first journey on January 6, 2023, starting at 8:20 am and completing at 1:50 pm (IST) on the same day. Punjab got its first-ever Vande Bharat train on December 30, 2023, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating the Ayodhya Dham railway station and flagging off 8 trains from the railway stations which included 2 Amrit Bharat trains and 6 Vande Bharat trains.
