Vaneet Dhir is emerging as a strong contender for the position of Mayor, with his leadership skills and experience gaining significant attention. As per sources in the known development, a meeting of AAP went underway in Chandigarh to decide contenders of Mayor and other posts of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation. During the meeting, two candidates namely Vaneet Dhir and Aruna Arora were finalsied. Furthermore, sources in the known development informed that AAP is mulling to name a Councillor from dalit community for the Deputy Mayor post.
Since an official announcement is yet to be made by the Aam Aadmi Party, other winning councillors are trying their best to remain in contention for the Mayor's post. And, it is well known that anything can be changed at the last moment in politics. The official announcement is likely to be made on December 30, 2024.
