After finally wrapping up its theatrical run, Chhaava was available on OTT at midnight. The movie began streaming digitally on April 11, and while everyone was looking forward to it, a section was left disappointed.
They are angry with the makers of the movie and streaming platform for a decision that could possibly affect the viewership. Know what that is.
Yes, the first edition of Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Chhaava that has begun streaming on OTT is the Hindi one alone. It is the same tactic the producers had taken while releasing the movie in the cinemas. Chhaava first saw the light of day as a Hindi-only movie, yes, after having struck a slight hiccup.
But the Vicky Kaushal-starrer also boasts a Telugu audience base. Having that in mind, the producers then also brought out the Telugu version of Chhaava. Though both the versions were expected to release on OTT, the same is not true. That has left fans terribly disappointed because they wanted to watch the movie in their native language, i.e., Telugu (Rashmika's fans, in fact, wanted that experience).
What is Chhaava about?
Chhaava is the first where the spotlight has been on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's son, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's story. Where a film like Har Har Mahadev traced the life of Marathas under the reign of Shivaji Maharaj, Chhaava is set in Mughal vs. Maratha times, as is Fatteshikast. Akshaye Khanna portrays the role of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in the film.
Chhaava is the third highest-grossing Hindi film, surpassing even Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan. The achievement in itself is claiming a lot of what the movie has to bring. Chhaava also covers the unspoken story of Sambhaji Maharaj, and especially the climax scene is bound to leave you touched. So, be prepared to know more about Maratha history, especially via Chhatrapati Shivaji and Sambhaji's story.
