In a horrific development, three passengers and one Railway Police Force ASI were shot dead inside a moving train by an RPF constable on Monday (July 31). The shocking incident occurred inside a moving Mumbai-Jaipur Express Train near Palghar Station. An investigation has been launched into the RPF train shooting case which is rare and bizarre. The Police are trying to know the motive of the RPF constable who went on a shooting spree killing an ASI and three other passengers in another boogie. To be precise, the firing took place around 5:20 am in the B5 coach of the Mumbai-Jaipur Express Train (12956). The accused has been identified as Constable Chetan Kumar and he opened fire at his colleague escort in charge ASI Tikaram Meena and three other civilians inside the train and jumped out of the moving train near Dahisar Station to evade his arrest. However, Chetan was later arrested by the cop.
How the RPF firing train incident took place?
Reports suggest that Chetan fired from his automatic weapon. For the unaware, Palghar is around 100 km from Mumbai. Chetan Kumar Choudhary opened fire on his escort duty in charge ASI Tika Ram Meena in the running train and then he went to another bogie and shot dead three passengers. Chetan was arrested by cops at Mira Road with the help of Government Railway Police and RPF officials. The accused got down from the train in Dahisar by chain pulling after the incident, however, he was detained by the Mumbai Railway Police at the Bhayandar station. Now, a video is doing rounds on social media which shows four dead bodies lying on a platform covered in white clothes. In the video, it can be seen that many cops are present at the station, while people pass by it. Also, one of the passengers inside the train shot a video of dead bodies lying on the platform.
