VIDEO: Ludhiana Woman fights off robbers with a broom to save neighbour

The woman, Jatinder Kaur, came to the rescue of her neighbour who was being threatened by robbers at knifepoint.

A woman in Ludhiana, Punjab, fought robbers - who were reportedly armed with knives - off with a broom in order to save her neighbour. Her heroic act caused the robbers to flee without their scooter which was then confiscated by the police. The entire incident was caught on CCTV.

 

According to the footage, 2 men and a women had entered the victim, Sandeep Kaur’s house and were threatening her with knives when she raised the alarm. Hearing here plea for help, her neighbour, Jatinder Kaur came after the robbers with her broom, successfully throwing them off balance and to the floor.

 

The robbers reportedly entered the victim’s house as guests.

 

According to the information, Sandeep Kaur who lives in Kamal Colony, is a school teacher. On Wednesday, a woman and two men came to his house. All three had their faces covered. As soon as she arrived, the woman engaged Sandeep Kaur in conversation and said that she knew Sandeep Kaur's son who used to run a de-addiction center on the streets.

 

After this the female teacher made all three sit in the house and served them tea. Meanwhile, an argument started taking place between them following which one of the men brought a knife from the kitchen and started threatening the female teacher and demanding cash and jewellery.

 

Sandeep Kaur then raised the alarm which caused Jatinder Kaur to come to her rescue. Jatinder Kaur informed that she was sweeping the house. When she heard Sandeep Kaur's voice, she immediately picked up the broom and ran out of the house. Then she came in front of the robbers who were running on a scooter in the street and attacked them with a broom.

 

The robbers lost their balance and the scooter hit the wall. Both the robbers ran away leaving the scooter. The woman accompanying them also slipped away into the streets. The entire CCTV footage of the robbery attempt has been handed over to the police.

 

SHO of Samrala police station Rao Varinder Singh said that the matter is being investigated. The owner of the scooter has been traced and the robbers are being identified. Inquiries are also being made about the woman along with them. All three will be brought under arrest soon.
