A double case of a security breach from Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra’s Punjab chapter has been reported earlier this morning, as it started from Tanda to Mukerian in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur.
As Rahul was walking in the yatra, a man came in and tried to hug him. He was immediately pushed back by his CRPF security. The Z-plus protectee is on the sixth day of the yatra in Punjab. A similar breach had been reported during the Delhi leg of the yatra. AICC general security KC Venugopal had flagged off security issues ahead of the entry of the yatra in Punjab.
Punjab’s Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said that Rahul stops at many places and invites people close to him, he added, "It seems like that one enthusiastic man just came to hug him,” Warring said.

Rahul Gandhi’s security lapse and CRPF:
The Congress had complained to Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the lapse in security of Rahul Gandhi in Delhi, after which the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) submitted a reply to the Ministry of Home Affairs on the matter. CRPF said that Rahul has broken security rules 113 times since 2020. Many a time, he has violated the fixed security instructions during the Bharat Jodo Yatra itself. They have also been informed about this from time to time.
Bhagwant Mann vs Rahul Gandhi:
On the first day in Hoshiarpur, Rahul Gandhi gave advice to CM Bhagwant Mann. Rahul said that he should not come under the pressure of Delhi. Don't be Arvind Kejriwal's remote control. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann did not take any time to reply taking a dig at the Congress’ move to make Channi the CM in place of Captain Amarinder Singh.
Punjab CM continued to say, it is better you don’t say anything about Punjab. People have made me the CM of this state, unlike Channi who was appointed by you. You disrespected the CM chosen by the people and your state Congress chief is being pushed in front of you, it doesn’t look nice if you speak these things.
Advising CM Bhagwant Mann, Rahul Gandhi said, it is my advice that Punjab should be governed through Punjab itself, one must not come under the pressure of Delhi and Kejriwal, it is a matter of Punjab’s pride.
