India's Cricket team made the country proud after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 tournament after beating South Africa in a heart-pounding finale. India managed to win the trophy after a 17 year dry spell. The excitement of the victory was palpable as the country erupted in cheers following Hardik Pandya's clutch bowling in the end that brought the Men In Blue back into the game as South Africa were cruising towards victory. The team captain, Rohit Sharma, added a dose of swagger to the celebrations by paying tribute to another sporting icon on his way to picking up the World Cup trophy.

On his way to picking the T20 World Cup trophy, Rohit Sharma emulated the swagger of WWE Hall of Famer and legend Ric Flair. Ric flair is known for his iconic walk that he would pull out in the middle of his matches as a way of showboating. During the felicitations, Kuldeep Yadav could be seen planning with Sharma to pick up the trophy in style.  Rohit made his way towards BCCI Secretary Jay Shah. He pulled off a unique walk as he went ahead pulling off the swagger of the 16-time world champion.

Talking about the final match of T20 World Cup tournament, team India on Saturday defeated South Africa in T20 World Cup 2024 final and lifted the prestigious ICC trophy after a span of 17 years. With this, Rohit Sharma became the second Indian captain to win T20 World Cup after MS Dhoni. The Men In Blue sealed the victory in the last over of the match. South Africa arguably dominated the entire match but it was Hardik Pandya dismissing Heinrich Klaasen that brought India back into the game. Thereafter, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Marco Jansen in the 18th Over and gave away only two to three runs. Following the end of the game, India captain Rohit Sharma on Sunday announced his decision to retire from T20I cricket after leading his side to World Cup triumph in Barbados along with Virat Kohli.
