Former Chief Minister Punjab Amarinder Singh’s ex-adviser BIS Chahal is now under the radar of the Vigilance Bureau. The Vigilance Bureau on Monday raided various properties of BIS Chahal who is said to be closely associated with Capt. Amarinder Singh. Reportedly, Vigilance Bureau has initiated a formal inquiry into BIS Chahal’s disproportionate assets case. VB has also requested the immigration authorities to issue a lookout notice against Chahal.
A higher official of the Vigilance Bureau has confirmed this information. He further stated that investigation is being carried out regarding the case. Reportedly, BIS Chahal’s phone is not traceable since 8th December 2022.
BIS Chahal was an adviser from the year 2017-2021 when Capt. Amarinder Singh was the Chief Minister of Punjab. Along with this, Chahal also used to oversee the working of the Vigilance Bureau during his tenure. Later on, Chahal got booked under a corruption case by the SAD government in 2008 but was later acquitted as witnesses against him turned hostile.
After this raid, Capt. Amarinder Singh is also under the scanner of the Vigilance Bureau as he was closely associated with BIS Chahal. Any progress in BIS Chahal’s case will raise difficulties for Capt. Amarinder Singh. Amarinder Singh was earlier in Congress when he came to the CM of Punjab and then resigned
