Quashing all the assumptions of ordered “Vigilance probe”
against the party leaders, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sunil Jakhar
on Monday has issued clarity on it.
He said that such orders have not been passed by the government and there lies
no truth at the grassroots level.
It may be noted here that earlier in the day sportsman turned politician MLA
Pargat Singh alleged that he received a threatening call from Punjab CM Capt
Amarinder Singh’s political adviser. Mr. Jakhar said that no threat call has
been made by Captain Sandeep Sandhu and these were just rumors.
To further clarify his stance, he added “Capt Sandeep Sandhu had himself made
it clear.”
According to PPCC Chief, the party has never indulged in vendetta politics.
Moreover, the party’s constitutional principles do not permit the leaders to
take a step to gratify their personal interests.
Describing the party MLA and veteran sports star Pargat Singh as the role model
of the youth, he said that the party respects his sentiments.

“Sports star and MLA Pargat Singh was the role model of the youth and no one
doubted his image as an honest and upright man and the party respected all its
MLAs, Jakhar said.
However now, the party’s agenda is to tackle the second disastrous wave of Covid-19
and to punish the perpetrators of Sacrilege incidents that happened way back in
2015 under the SAD rule.
Mr. Jakhar has further asked the CM to investigate such propaganda that was
tarnishing the image of the party.
He further added that these rumors were mischievously cooked to divert
attention from these two issues but there was no truth in the talks on
vigilance probe against the Congress leaders. Nothing like that was being done
or would be done by the government.
