I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support..But as I move forward, I realise its time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor...So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right...Last 2 movies and many a years of memories...Thank you again. For everything and everything in between..Forever indebted."
After Vikrant Massey's retirement announcement, fans as well as actors bombarded the actor's comment section. Actress Raashii Khanna wrote, "What? No!" Actress Eisha Gupta wrote, "Vikrant" with heart emojis.
Vikrant Massey's Retirement Reason
It is pertinent to mention here that Vikrant Massey did not specify the exact reason why he is taking a break from acting. However, during the promotion days of his movie Sabarmati Report, Massey had opened up on getting death threats. Not only this, but the 37-year-old actor had also revealed that his 9-month-old son also got death threats.
Vikrant Massey said that had expressed concern about the safety of his 9-month-old son Vardhan. Vikrant revealed his fear during the promotion of his film 'The Sabarmati Report'. This film is based on the true incident of the 2002 Godhra train arson, due to which it had to face controversies. In an interview given to Dainik Bhaskar, Vikrant said that he is getting threats on social media and WhatsApp. His newborn son Vardhan was also targeted in these threats.
He said, "I am being threatened and my son's name is being dragged into this. This is a matter of concern, but I am not afraid...I am getting threats on my social media, WhatsApp. These people know that I became a father 9 months ago. My child who cannot even walk properly, his name is being taken in the middle. I am being made to worry about his safety. What kind of society are we living in? I feel sorry, but I am not afraid. If I was, then this film would not have been made."
Notably, despite multiple states declaring The Sabarmati Report tax-free, the movie could not bring a large footfall. However, there is also a fact that when 12th Fail was released in theaters it was not a blockbuster but when it was released on OTT, Massey became a sensation.
