In a show of strong opposition against the state government, villagers in Kanshi Nagar, Jalandhar, gathered to protest against a liquor shop operating in their area. The protest was organized to demand the immediate closure of the liquor shop, which the villagers claim is causing a decline in the overall environment of the village.
The protest, which took place on Kala Sanghia Road, saw a large gathering of villagers demanding the shutdown of the liquor shop. Former councilor Prabh Dayal was also present at the scene to try and explain the situation to the protesters. However, the villagers remained firm in their demand for the closure of the shop, claiming that it creates an unsafe environment, particularly for women and girls.
The police arrived at the scene and managed to disperse the protesters, opening the road for traffic. Despite this, the villagers continued to express their strong anger against the excise department and the state government. This is not the first time that villagers in Jalandhar have protested against liquor shops in their area. In the past, protests have been organized against a liquor shop operating in Model House as well.
