A video filmed by a woman went viral. The video showed her husband returning after he had a vasectomy for her over their concerns about living in the red state.
After Roe v Wade, the 1973 landmark ruling judgment
was recently overturned, which had previously established a constitutional
right to privacy and reproductive freedom, the Supreme Court of the United
States left it over the individual states to determine the legality of access
to reproductive healthcare.
After the Supreme Court’s controversial decision,
Justice Clarence Thomas advised in his concurring opinion that the high court “needs
to revisit all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents.”
One such landmark judgment of 1965 the judge mentioned
was Griswold v Connecticut. This decision protected the liberty o married
couples to purchase and utilize the contraceptive based on their will without the
government’s restriction.
Some concerned citizens have resorted to taking
assertive measures in this regard, like stocking up on the Morning after Pill
or getting a vasectomy to prevent pregnancy.

The woman posted a video of her husband leaving the
clinic after he had a vasectomy, the video soon reached 3.8 million views.
It is a low-risk procedure, but a far more effective
form of male birth control in which the tubes that are called the vas deferens
carrying sperm are cut off and sealed. Three months after once the vasectomy is
done, the semen will not contain sperm, and therefore no chance of pregnancy.
The video received an overwhelming response from the
Netizens where they are praising the man for his efforts and steps toward the
couple’s mutual concern. As per the report published on Bloomberg, there has
reportedly been a hike in the number of appointments for sterilization, to
reduce the risk of pregnancies.
In the report author mentions, "In Ohio, where
abortions are now prohibited after six weeks into pregnancy, the Cleveland
Clinic went from lining up three or four vasectomies a day to 90." The users watching the video shared their own experiences
of the exercise on the same and paid a virtual tribute to the man who went
viral for his deed through the video.
