The ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy series between India and Australia has impressed every cricket lover. Post pandemic era, India and Australia series has brought back the lost charm of test series in cricket. Whoever wins the Border-Gavaskar Trophy but this series will always be known how team India showcased their character when most of its front-line players got injured, still its young guns outperformed their counterparts from Australia Cricket Team.
While India needs 328 runs to win the Border Gavaskar series, it was India's young pacer Mohammed Siraj who knocked over the Australian batting line-up at the Gabba. For India, Mohammed Siraj took his first 5-wicket haul and dedicated his outstanding performance to his late father. Siraj picked up his maiden five-wicket haul, conceding 73 runs in 19.5 overs. Shardul Thakur also picked four wickets for 61 in the 19 overs he bowled while debutant off-spinner Washington Sundar scalped one.
Following this, Virender Sehwag hailed Siraj's performance and said that 'the boy has turned into a man'. Sehwag took to Twitter and wrote, "The boy has become a man on this tour. Siraj, Leader of the attack in his first Test series and he has led from.the front. The way newcomers have performed for India on this tour will be etched in memories for a long long time. Will be fitting if they retain the trophy."
