An employee of Jalandhar's travel agency Om Visa took his own life by jumping from the fourth floor of the AGI Building near th bus stand. The man was identified as Gaurav, an employee of Om Visa. A CCTV video of Om Visa employee suicide has also surfaced. As per reports, the family of the deceased has blamed the company for Gaurav's death.
The family members have said that Gaurav was upset for a long time due to the work of the company. Also, the family alleged that Gaurav got death threats from the company in connection with the work. At present, the police have registered an FIR against the Om Visa owner Sahil Bhatia.
Gaurav was working at Om Visa Company for the last three years. At present, the police are investigating the whole matter from the angle of suicide. The bus stand police, who reached the spot, had sealed the spot. The police have also seized CCTV footage from the spot.
According to the family members, they got a call at around 9:30 am that their son had been admitted to the Punjab Institute of Medical Science (PIMS). The family was asked to come to the hospital immediately. When the family reached the hospital in a hurry, the doctors said that Gaurav was brought to the hospital in a dead condition. Seeing the dead body of the son, all the family members are crying badly. Also, the relatives of the deceased created a lot of ruckus at the hospital.
One of the family members said, "We do not know how this happened, but our child was very upset. He was harassed daily. Gaurav often used to say that I do not want to work here."
Giving information in this case, Bus Stand Chowki Incharge Major Singh stated that a case has been registered based on the statements given by the father of the deceased Gaurav. The police have not found any suicide note, due to which it is not clear why Gaurav committed suicide. But the matter will be investigated and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
The police have registered an FIR against Sahil Bhatia, owner of Om Visa Immigration Company.
