On Sunday, the power icon was put to rest alongside his parents at Sree Kanteerava Studios with full state honours. Several performers from the southern industries came to pay their respects to their beloved Appu during his burial. Vishal, a Tamil-Telugu actor who was in Hyderabad for the pre-release of his film 'Enemy' on Sunday, was also shaken by the news and spoke at length about the deceased Kannada actor during his address at the pre-release event.

At a recent promotional event for his film Enemy, Tamil actor Vishal vows to look after 1800 students who were receiving free education from Puneeth Rajkumar.
Puneeth, affectionately known as 'Appu,' is one in a billion. He has made significant contributions to charities and foundations.
Vishal shared his grief on Twitter after learning about Puneeth's death. He wrote, "I just can’t believe that my Good Friend Puneeth Rajkumar has passed away & is no more...May his Soul Rest in Peace, my Deepest Condolences, May his Family stay Strong @ these testing times. It’s a Big Loss for the Karnataka Movie Industry & a Big Loss for me as Dear Friend."
Anand Shankar, who previously helmed a Telugu-Tamil bi-lingual starring Vijay Devarakonda, has written and directed the action thriller 'The Enemy.’
His most recent film, 'Enemy,' stars Vishal and Arya in the key roles. Other notable actors in the film include Mamta Mohandas, Prakash Raj, and Mrinalini Ravi. The film will be released in both Telugu and Tamil on November 4, coinciding with the Deepavali holiday.
