On Friday, 8th November, Punjab Chief Minister is going to visit Ludhiana for the oath ceremony of the newly elected Sarpanchs of the state. Many leaders will attend this program. Due to this, the traffic police have diverted many routes in the city. These routes will be diverted from 8 am to 5 pm. Entry of heavy vehicles will be banned on Ladowal to Doraha Side and Samrala Chowk to Chandigarh Road, while small vehicles and cars will continue to run on both these routes.
A total of 300 traffic police personnel has been called from different districts for this purpose. Regarding this, Ludhiana ADCP Gurpreet Kaur Purewal said that if needed, the movement of two-wheelers and four-wheelers of the general public can also be stopped on these roads.
Heavy vehicles coming from Chandigarh will be diverted from Nilon Canal towards Dorai. From Doraha, these heavy vehicles will be able to go via the highway to Jalandhar side. Vehicles going from Ferozepur will have to go via Southern Bypass from Doraha to Milk Plant on Ferozepur Road. Small vehicles coming from Chandigarh Machhiwara towards Ludhiana will be diverted from Kohra Chowk towards Sahnewal. Traffic from Sahnewal will go to Samrala via Delhi Road as the road going from Sahnewal to Kohra will be closed. In such a situation, vehicles going from Sahnewal Chowk towards Kohra will have to go through the crossroads and reach the Nilo Canal Bridge.
Vehicles coming from Ferozepur, Faridkot, Moga, Barnala and Bathinda towards the canal wil be diverted from Doraha towards the Nilon Canal. Vehicles going towards Chandigarh from Samrala Chowk will get diverted from Samrala Chowk via Delhi Road, Sherpur Chowk to Doraha, Doraha to Neelon Canal Bridge instead of Chandigarh Road.
Lastly, heavy vehicles coming from Jalandhar will be diverted from Ladowal via Southern Bypass via Tibya Canal Bridge towards Doraha from where these heavy vehicles can take the route towards Delhi and Chandigarh.
