Wanted terrorist sons’ among 11 govt employees sacked for 'anti-national' activities in J & K

The Jammu and Kashmir administration on July 10 has terminated the services of eleven employees, including two sons of most wanted terrorist Syed Salahuddin, for alleged militant links.

According to the officials, these employees were passing on information to militants and even provided them the logistics support.

Sons of militant, Syed Ahmal Shakeel and Shahid Yousuf, were sacked from their services for their alleged involvement in "anti-national activities.”

Two teachers from the Anantnag district and two police constables have also been found involved in terror-funding activities. One of the constables, Abdul Rashid Shigan, allegedly executed attacks on security forces.

Of the 11 government employees sacked on Saturday, four are from Anantnag district, three from Budgam, and one each from Baramulla, Srinagar, Pulwama and Kupwara districts.

Of these, four are working in the education department, two in J&K Police and one each in agriculture, skill development, power, Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) and health departments.

"NIA has tracked terror funding trails of both the persons who have been found involved in raising, receiving, collecting, and transferring funds through hawala transactions for terror activities of Hizbul Mujahideen," the official said.

J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had last year amended the J&K Service Regulation rules and assumed power to sack any government servant without prior notice if there is evidence of such an an employee having indulged in anti-national or pro-militant activities.

Furthermore, CID verification of the antecedents of any person employed with the government has been made a compulsory pre-condition before such an employee can join government service.
