England's team collapsed for 112 runs in the first innings. Despite this, English team batsman Zak Crawley is expecting to win this test match. He said that in the fourth innings, we will aim for at least 150 runs in front of India. There are cracks in the pitch, so it will be difficult for them to chase this target. Crawley said it would be extremely difficult to bat in this ground until the fourth inning.
Crawley said. "It's nowhere near over. We could bowl them out for late 100s, early 200s. And if we can get any sort of lead on that pitch, we've a chance in the fourth innings.
"I don't think it's going to require a miracle, to be honest. Batting last on this pitch is going to be extremely difficult. If we bowl well on Thursday and then get a nice lead - even a 100-run lead or 150 - we've got a great chance of winning the game."
Questions are being raised on the attitude of England's players as they look frustrated and tiered on the first day of the third test. England who is playing with three pacers on the turning track were bowling hard to get the Indian batsmen out and also appealed twice however, it was given not out even by the third umpire.
On this Crawley said, "We're behind the game and we need those 50/50 calls to go our way. But it seemed like none of them went our way today. That's just the way it goes. That's out of our control, so we've got to keep trying to be better. Hopefully we can play better tomorrow and we can take wickets without needing the 50/50 decisions."
Following this, former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer took a dig at Crawley on Twitter. Sharing a picture of the sinking Titanic, Jaffer wrote, "*The Titanic has sunk* Some people: How can you be so sure the Titanic has sunk without looking at it from all angles?"
