Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong joined the growing list of leaders who are celebrating different cultures and religions as he surprised the Sikh community by wearing a turban during the inauguration of a gurudwara in the country.

During the inauguration program, he also greeted people with Sat Sri Akaal. The video of the instance has gone viral on social media and netizens, especially Sikhs are impressed by PM’s turban-wearing skills and perfect greeting.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, the guest of honor in the inauguration of the newly renovated Silat Road Sikh Temple was seen in white kurta and turban as he addresses the Sikh community.

In the 31 second long video, Loong is seen thanking the key member of Singapore’s Sikh community, followed by a heartily greeting saying “Sat Sri Akaal.”

The video was shared on Twitter by a user Parminder Singh. He wrote, “Singapore Prime Minister,@leehsienloong inaugurated a newly renovated Gurudwara wearing an immaculate turban and greeting everyone with a perfect Sat Sri Akaal!”

Netizens have been appreciating the Prime Minister for celebrating the Sikh culture and calling him a ‘true leader’.

Praising PM’s acceptance of a foreign culture, a user on social media platform wrote, “Singapore is a multicultural society..living peacefully. Why can’t we have it in all countries?”

Another user said, “He is in another league altogether. Rarely will you find great compassion and great capability in a world leader.”
