The Enforcement Directorate team raided around 10-12 places in Punjab including the house of Punjab's Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's Nephew in Mohali. ED is searching in multiple places in Punjab investigating the money laundering by illegal sand mining companies just before the elections of 2022.
CM Channi came forward after the raid at his Nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey's home. CM said that this is the misuse of ED by the central government. The raid is being conducted to target him and putting pressure on him before the elections. This is not good for the country's democracy.
He also said that the same thing happened before West Bengal's election and now it is in Punjab's politics. ED raided in various parts of Punjab including Ludhiana, Mohali and Haryana's Panchkula.
