In a bizarre incident in Punjab’s Ludhiana, two school going children fell into a huge crater that appeared abruptly on a road when it collapsed. The students sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital immediately.
The two children were riding a scooter to reach school when the crater appeared in the middle of the road. The images and videos of the incident are going viral on social media.
In a viral photo, a man could be seen fixing an iron ladder for the two students to climb out of the massive hole. Both are in school uniform. The crater was steadily filling with water and sewer pipes were seen sticking out from the soil. A Honda Activa scooter is also spotted buried in the mud.

After the students were safely rescued from the crater, water was filled to the brim in roughly an hour.
"Both students were injured and were taken to the hospital. An X-ray was taken there. They were on their way to school "stated the father of one of the children, a Class 10 student.
"To avoid such incidents, the infrastructure should have been well-maintained. The locals here were quite helpful in rescuing my daughter and the other girl," he stated.
The local authority has begun repairs to fix the crater.
