In a worrisome development, India's comedy king & actor Kapil Sharma and three other Bollywood celebrities recently received death threats via Email from Pakistan. Kapil Sharma death threat became a topic of discussion on social media as the sender in a vague email alleged that he is watching the comedian's every activity and expects his reply within 8 hours. Apart from Kapil Sharma, other celebrities who received death threats from Pakistan are- Rajpal Yadav, Sugandha Mishra, and choreographer Remo D'Souza. However, it has not been revealed where all other celebrities received death threat from the same email ID that was used for Kapil Sharma.
An FIR has been registered with the Amboli Police against an unknown person under section 351(3) of BNS. The police have started the investigation. They revealed that the threat email was sent from Pakistan.
The email reads, "We are monitoring your recent activities and we believe it is important that we bring to your attention a sensitive matter. This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you, we urge you to treat this message with utmost seriousness and confidentiality."
The sender signed off as 'BISHNU'. According to the the police, the celebrities were required to reply within 8 hours; otherwise, they would face consequences on personal and professional fronts.
According to reports, Kapil recently registered a complaint with the police. Before Kapil Sharma, his former co-comedians from the show, Sugandha Mishra and Remo D'Souza, also filed complaints at the police station after receiving the same mail. Rajpal Yadav received the mail on December 14 last year. He filed the complaint with the police on December 17. The mail was in Rajpal Yadav's spam box.
Mumbai Police have been probing into the complaints with utmost urgency as celebrities are being targeted one after another.
The threat emails have come when new trouble is looming over Bollywood. For instance, Salman Khan is already on the hit list of the Lawrence Bishnoi Group. Apart from Salman, Saif Ali Khan was recently attacked inside his Bandra home allegedly by a robber who is now arrested. Last year, tensions prevailed after Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai and the responsibility for it was taken by the Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
