The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a flash flood warning for several districts in Himachal Pradesh, which is expected to impact neighboring Punjab as well. Seven districts, including Kangra, Chamba, Sirmaur, Solan, Kullu, Shimla, and Mandi, have been placed on high alert due to the risk of flash floods over the next 24 hours.
Heavy rainfall is predicted to raise water levels in the Sutlej River, potentially affecting parts of Punjab. Many districts in Punjab are already experiencing continuous downpours, and the authorities had previously issued warnings for residents to remain cautious.
Across the country, the monsoon is in full swing, severely impacting normal life in various states. From Delhi to Gujarat and Maharashtra, heavy rains are wreaking havoc. Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are also experiencing heavy to very heavy rainfall, causing widespread disruptions.
