Important news regarding weather of Punjab which that the state may witness rain over the next couple of days. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted rain accompanied with hailstorm and thunderstorm in central India, including Punjab-Haryana, between 26-27 February.
According to the department, there is a possibility of rain in many districts including Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Moga, while other districts may remain cloudy. However, the weather will clear on Tuesday, after which there is a possibility of cloudy sky and rain in many districts on March 1 and 2. In light of this situation, weather experts have advised people to exercise caution.
“Scattered to fairly widespread to widespread light/moderate rainfall accompanied thunferstorms and lightning very likely over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi on 1st & 2nd march” said the IMD’s press releases. “…isolated to scattered light/moderate rainfall over Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan on 1st and 2nd march, it added. Along with this, Isolated heavy rainfall/snowfall is also expected over the western Himalayan Region on March 1 and 2.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Light rain may occur at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh. Light rain may occur over East Assam, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and South Chhattisgarh as well. Hailstorm activity is also likely to occur at isolated places over Uttarakhand on March 1.
